Vince Briffa was born in Sliema, Malta on the 15th of May 1958. He studied drawing and painting privately (1967-1973) and at the Malta School of Art (1973-1976). He trained in graphic design from 1976 to 1979, where he also spent some time working in London. He completed a Masters Degree in Fine Art at the University of Leeds (Bretton Hall) in 2000.

Briffa has been involved with film and video production since 1990 and currently works in film, photography, video and installation. A director of MPS Ltd., a Marketing, PR and Advertising agency, he is also an assistant lecturer in Communications and Creativity at the University of Malta. He lives with his wife Laura and son Luke in Gwardamangia, Malta.
